What makes OBS worth a visit

Two qualifications, one school. OBS offers both the Federal Swiss Matura and the International Baccalaureate, each guaranteeing a rounded education. For a family unsure whether they'll relocate again or stay in Switzerland long-term, having both pathways available under one roof is ensures continuity in case relocation is necessary.

A community that reflects both Swiss and international life. With roughly a third Swiss families, a third with one Swiss parent, and a third from 41 different nations, OBS brings together a genuinely mixed group of children and families.

STEAMS programmes with real depth. OBS runs its own Space Agency, Media Academy, and Ocean & Life Explorers programmes, alongside Aikido as a core future-skills offering. These project-based programmes build creative problem-solving, technical know-how, and interdisciplinary skills that extend well beyond the classroom.

Individual support that's structured, not improvised. Personalised learning plans, regular progress assessments, and individual coaching ensure each student gets the support they need, backed by a dedicated OBS+ Learning Support service.

A full-day rhythm that works for working parents. Early and late care runs from 7:15am to 6:30pm, with a shuttle service, holiday clubs, and daily school meals rounding out the day.

More than 30 clubs to explore. From e-sports and the Prime Time Math Club to cooking and baking with Miss Marcela and Aikido, there's a wide range of after-school activities for children to discover their interests close to home.

Good to know before you enquire

  • Babycare and Pre-Kindergarten spots fill quickly; enquire early if your child is under 4.
  • The admissions assessment includes proper diagnostic testing rather than just a conversation, so it's worth preparing your child for what to expect.
  • If your child has a diagnosed learning difference, share existing reports upfront; OBS uses this information to plan the right support from day one.
