Benaki Museum

General Description

The Benaki Museum Cultural Centre is located at 138 Pireos Street, one of the main new development axes of Athens. Throughout the year, the Museum organizes creative activities for children and their families, both in the permanent collections and in the Foundation's selected temporary exhibitions. Admission for the temporary exhibition ranges from € 5 - 16. The museum is closed in August. There is a café-restaurant on the museum premises with opening hours Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday 10:00 - 01:00. The Benaki Museum offers a wide range of activities for children, promoting creativity and learning through interactive and entertaining experiences.

Activities

The Benaki Museum offers : 

• Educational programs : Designed for different ages, these programs introduce children to history and art through games, storytelling and hands-on activities,
• Creative workshops : In special workshops, children learn techniques such as painting, craft making and even traditional arts,
• Tours and guided tours for children : Interactive guided tours of the permanent collections and temporary exhibitions, adapted to younger ages, help children discover Greek culture in a fun way,
• Interactive games : The Museum organizes interactive games and activities that help children explore its collections through play and discovery,
• Thematic workshops inspired by exhibitions : Children can be inspired by the temporary exhibitions and create their own artworks, combining imagination with art.
