The Museum organizes and implements specialized Educational Programmes for children and young people of all educational levels, including Special Education. The programmes have an experiential and interactive character, adapted to the needs of the participants. Visitors can touch the exhibits, thus coming into direct contact with the historical objects. The space is also accessible to visually impaired people, aiming at the same time to raise public awareness about disability issues, especially blindness. The exhibits and areas of the museum have explanatory signs in Braille. In addition, there is a new online educational section for the little ones!
Educational programs of experiential character for school groups: Verbal description, combined with the use of masks and eye-closing during interactive educational games, provides children with valuable information about the daily life, opportunities and challenges faced by people with visual impairments. This approach contributes to the cultivation of values of acceptance of diversity and strengthening of inclusion.Ticket price 3 euros (per person).
Online Educational Program of the Touch Museum : In cooperation with schools from all over Greece, the Museum implements its educational program remotely, using technology. In this way, all students, even those located in the most remote areas, are given the opportunity to get to know the Museum of Touching and raise awareness about the disability of blindness.
Multidisciplinary - educational tool : It is a specially designed and equipped "educational suitcase", offering students and teachers an experiential approach to understanding the disability of blindness. The Museum Bag is available for loan free of charge, as is participation in the online educational programmes.
Educational and experiential experience : Parents with children can tour the Museum's permanent collection, offering an alternative experience of learning about and interacting with ancient Greek culture and modern history. As part of special interactive programmes and tactile routes, young and old visitors alike close their eyes and "touch" the unique exhibits. Ticket price 3 euros (per person).
The educational value and benefits of art through the sense of touch : The Museum of Touch welcomes children and adolescents with learning and developmental difficulties, either as part of special school visits or independently. Using the educational value of art, Touch as the main medium and "play" as a valuable tool, the Museum's specialized staff has formulated programs that enhance the participatory process and creative connection with culture. These programs also promote an understanding of blindness, disability and diversity. Admission to these programmes and activities for this category of population is free of charge.
