EduPlay STEM Lab

EduPlay STEM Lab is an indoor open play space in Steinhausen (Kanton Zug) built around science, technology, engineering and math. Kids up to 9 explore hands-on stations and age-matched toys at their own pace, and a parent or caregiver stays with them the whole time. A 2-hour session costs CHF 27 including one adult and is booked online. EduPlay describes itself as Switzerland's first open play STEM lab.

What kids do there

It is open play. Children and their caregivers move around freely and explore at their own pace. The space is set up with hands-on stations, STEM-themed zones and toys chosen for specific age groups.

How to book the combinations:

• One child: book Daily Session.
• Siblings: book one Daily Session, then add Additional Sibling for each other child. Enter the number of children on the form.

All prices are in CHF. Gift vouchers are available in CHF 27, 50, 100 and 200, or a custom amount.

Birthday parties and private events

Book the lab for an exclusive 3-hour private party. It is just you, the kids and your guests. Parents are welcome to stay.

How to book: fill in the form on the events page with your preferred dates and your child's name and age. EduPlay confirms availability and sends a custom offer within 48 to 72 hours. There is no fixed party price on the site.

Getting there

• By train: SBB to Steinhausen. 5 minutes from Zug, 39 minutes from Zurich.
• By car: there is no visitor parking at the Multifabrik Building. Paid parking is at Steinhausen Bahnhof, Beim Bahnhof 1, 6312 Steinhausen. Walk about 3 to 4 minutes.
• On foot from the station: take the pedestrian tunnel under the train tracks to the Multifabrik Building.
• Inside the building: use main entrance 1, go through the 2 sets of glass doors, take the Sektor B door on the left (past the black curtains), then the lift or stairs to the 3rd floor. EduPlay is the business door immediately on your left as you exit.
• Bikes: covered bicycle parking at the building entrance and at the Steinhausen Bahnhof parking side.

Good to know before you go

• Socks or house shoes are required for adults and kids. EduPlay sells socks if you forget.
• Parents and caregivers stay with their children at all times. It is not a drop-off or childcare facility.
• No food or drink in the play zones. Eat and drink at the designated café tables. Outside food is not allowed unless for dietary reasons. Infant formula and baby food are fine.
• Tell staff about allergies, since food is present in the facility.
• Please keep sick children at home. EduPlay can reschedule your session.
• Photos and video of children other than your own are not allowed.
• Only service animals are allowed. Leave furry pets at home.
• The session has a fixed end time. If you arrive late, the session still ends as scheduled.
• You accept the terms, code of conduct and cancellation policy before your visit or at the check-in desk.

Booking, changes and cancellation

• Book online: pick a 2-hour slot in the booking calendar. The calendar shows the days and times currently open.
• All bookings are non-refundable.
• To change a session: call or SMS 076 306 36 69 at least 2 hours before the start. Write "Cancellation" or "Change", plus the guest name, the original date and time, and your preferred new session if you know it.
• Rebooking: you may receive a passcode to rebook within 3 months of the original booking, subject to availability. Requests made less than 2 hours before the session cannot be accommodated.
