The spectacular permanent art installation by renowned artist Carsten Höller: the "Rutschbahn" is located within the sleek, modern extension of the Kunsthaus Zürich It's a massive, spiraling tubular sculpture that you can actually ride!

What Parents Need to Know

• The Thrill Factor: This isn't a gentle slope. The multi-story slide offers a quick, exciting descent, giving riders a unique, "voluptuous panic" (as the artist describes it) – a fun rush of adrenaline between floors.
• Height/Age Restrictions: Safety first! While exact restrictions can vary per installation, similar Höller slides at other museums generally require riders to be a minimum height (often around 1.3 meters or 4 feet tall) and potentially a certain age (e.g., 6+ years old). Be sure to check the specific rules posted at the Kunsthaus entrance on the day of your visit.
• For Observers Too: Even if your child isn't tall enough to ride, the slide is a stunning, interactive piece of contemporary art to observe. Watching others whizz by through sections of clear tubing is part of the fun!

Audio Guided Tours

The audio-guided tour allows kids to explore the museum at their own pace, while the booklet collection, filled with puzzles and illustrations, encourages them to observe and find clues in the artworks. The museum also offers the option to host birthday parties for young children. Please note that food and beverages are not allowed in the exhibition areas but are permitted in the café near the entrance. Alsom there is a unique exhibition for Chinese-Canadian painters Matthew Wong and Vincent van Gogh. The cost is free for kids. Activities
