The surroundings are black with the only light coming from the mobile phones of the crowd watching the two dancers in the center. Artistic Direction – Federica & Valerio Porleri

The Movement Education Project (MEP) was founded by Federica Porleri and Valerio Porleri, two professional dancers, choreographers, and educators who share a passion for bringing contemporary dance closer to everyone — from young children to adults.

With years of international experience across Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Italy, Federica and Valerio created MEP to make dance an accessible art form that promotes physical health, emotional balance, and creative growth.

Federica Porleri is a freelance dancer, choreographer, and educator who studied at the Iwanson International School of Contemporary Dance in Munich. She has performed at renowned venues such as the Bayerische Staatsoper, Opernhaus Zürich, and the Bregenzer Festspiele, and has appeared at major dance festivals in Europe and Mexico. Through MEP, she brings her artistic expertise to inspire children, teens, and adults to discover their own voice through movement.

Valerio Porleri holds a Master’s degree in Contemporary Dance Education from the University of Music and Performing Arts in Frankfurt am Main. His background spans dance, acting, singing, yoga, and martial arts. As both a performer and choreographer, he has worked with companies such as the Nunzio Impellizzeri Dance Company and the Bayerische Staatsoper, and led dance education programs across Europe.

Together, Federica and Valerio combine artistry and pedagogy to create a holistic environment where every student — beginner or advanced — can grow with confidence, creativity, and joy.
