The Yacht Club Horgen which was founded in 1968 aims to promote sailing and touring sailing, the training and care of the young and the preservation of Lake Zurich. Active members of the club can be boat owners and co-owners, couples, young people from 8 to 20 years of age who actively participate in sailing and friends of sailing and touring sailing as well as active members of another (Swiss Sailing) club can join the YCH as passive members. The Horgen Yacht Club provides children and young people with the opportunity to learn sailing from the ground up or enhance their existing skills. Depending on their age and experience, they are placed in the appropriate training group. Under the long-standing leadership of Margrit Schlauri, a highly experienced team of trainers guides and supports them both on the water and on land. The training follows the guidelines of Swiss Sailing and Jugend+Sport, using Optimist, 420 dinghy, and Laser boat classes.
Learn to Sail & Skill Development: Children can start from scratch or refine their sailing techniques.
Structured Training Groups: Participants are assigned to groups based on their age and experience.
Experienced Coaching Team: Led by long-time head coach Margrit Schlauri, instructors provide guidance on and off the water.
Official Curriculum: Training follows the guidelines of Swiss Sailing and Jugend+Sport.
Boat Classes: Optimist, 420 dinghy, and ILCA (Laser).
Sailing courses and training sessions are held on Wednesday and Friday afternoons, with weekend regattas against other clubs. Participants train on Optimist, 420 dinghy, and Laser (ILCA) boat classes.

2:00 PM - 5:00 PM: Optimist Beginners
5:00 PM - 8:00 PM: Optimist Advanced
Friday:
5:30 PM - 8:30 PM: ILCA & 420
Optimist: CHF 440 per participant
ILCA & 420: CHF 440 per participant
Weekend Regattas: Sailors get the opportunity to compete against other clubs.
Club Events & Social Activities: Fun gatherings, sailing camps, and special training sessions.
