General Description

The Museum of Greek Children's Art is a unique museum dedicated exclusively to children's artistic creation. Founded in 1994 in Athens, it is one of the few museums in the world that focus on artworks created by children. Its goal is to highlight children's imagination, expression and creativity, while offering educational programs and workshops that help children cultivate their relationship with art. The museum also has an impressive collection of over 10,000 works of art created by children aged 4 to 14 years old. The works cover a variety of art forms, including painting, sculpture and construction. The museum offers a variety of educational programs for children of all ages, as well as for school groups.

A unique experience full of festive and creative activities that will give children aged 5-11 years old unforgettable moments and the most beautiful Easter memories!

What does the Easter Camp include?
  • At the Museum of Children's Art, children will:
  • Paint inspired by books, works by well-known artists and the museum's exhibitions.
  • They will participate in theatre workshops and travel to imaginary worlds.
  • They will play musical and movement games and skill exercises.
  • Enjoy book presentations by favourite authors.
  • Explore Plaka and play in the quiet pedestrian street in front of the Museum.
  • Visit neighbouring museums and discover new cultural sites.

With the care and guidance of experienced staff and collaborators of the Museum of Greek Children's Art, every child will have the opportunity to develop self-confidence, teamwork and creative thinking, following the Museum's unique educational approach.

Important information

Children should bring a water bottle, brunch and lunch (not in aluminium packaging - microwaveable materials are preferred).

Sunday Art Workshops for children 6-12 years old at METT

Sundays are filled with creativity! The Sunday walk in Plaka ends at the Museum of Greek Children's Art, where young and old become one big company.

Through the workshops, children will discover the work of great artists, get inspired and create their own works, experimenting with different techniques. With the guidance of the Museum's experienced artists, they will explore new ways of expression and give wings to their imagination!

  • Sunday 30 March, 10.30-12.00: The coming of spring, "The return of Persephone". Lydia Petropoulou, Art Historian, Art Educator, Consciousness Trainer.

The Museum of Greek Children's Art includes : 
  • Painting with parents / For children 2,5-5 years old : The Museum of Greek Children's Art enhances the creativity of preschool children through the specialized program "Painting with parents". This series of workshops aims to develop children's skills and abilities, offering them the opportunity to express themselves creatively while enjoying fun and play,

  • Sunday Art Workshops for children aged 6-12 : The programme includes Sunday 20 October, 10.30-12.00: "In France with Edgar Degas",

    Sunday 27 October, 10.30-12.00: "In Japan with Katsushika Hokusai", workshop duration 1.5 hours and participation fee 12€,

  • 8-month art workshops 2024-2025 : In the two-hour art workshops, carefully designed by the Museum's Education Department, children will have the opportunity to explore different materials and experiment with different painting techniques. At the same time, they will create both individual and group artworks, developing their imagination and skills. Total cost: €350,

  • Collections : The museum has an impressive collection of over 10,000 works of art created by children aged 4 to 14 years old. The works cover a variety of art forms, including painting, sculpture and construction,

  • Educational Programs : The museum offers a variety of educational programs for children of all ages, as well as school groups. The programs focus on creative learning and an interactive approach to art.
