During your visit, you will participate in a Getting to Know and Care program lasting approximately 40 minutes. You will learn about donkeys, including why they have big ears, what their origins are, who their leader is, and the special relationships they develop with each other and with people. Plus, you'll get to participate in their care by brushing and combing them, while offering them pats and hugs! The programme includes theoretical training starting in the large stable and practical training in three care areas. Tours are suitable for visitors of all ages and take place every 15 minutes or so. On entry, you can tour the farm, meet the other animals in the enclosure, sit in the seating areas to enjoy a coffee or have a picnic in the magnificent countryside.
Gaidourohora offers several activities and programs for children and adults:
Discovery Program : An interactive tour focusing on the donkey's origins, physiology, needs and history. During the tour, you will have the opportunity to get to know our donkeys up close and personal,
Basic Care : After the theoretical training is completed, it is time to get hands-on with the care of a donkey. You will have the opportunity to familiarize yourself with it, brush it and enjoy lots of petting and hugs,
Relaxing in nature : Amidst clumps of almond and wild olive trees, opposite the large stable yard, our seating areas are available for you to relax and enjoy nature and the view of the donkeys, close to the other animals on the farm. We offer coffee, tea and juice, while you can bring whatever edibles you wish and enjoy your picnic,
Go Donkey Trekking : We can arrange a hike alongside the donkeys in the surrounding countryside. We walk together and become companions with our donkey on an adventure in nature. The trail is not particularly difficult, but the terrain is uneven and requires good physical fitness,
Party time : celebrate with the donkeys! Experience a different action-packed party in the life of the stable and have fun with lots of games in nature. Aimed at children from 4 years old and can accommodate up to 25 people.
