Young and old will enjoy the interactive performance In Motion at the National Glyptotheque - Alexandros Soutsos Museum in Athens, having at the same time the opportunity to explore the Museum's exhibition. It is a multiscreen performance by the Flux for Art group, directed by theatre and museum educator Danae Mega, which unites all forms of art in a unique experience for children and adults. The performance highlights the art of sculpture and the Museum's exhibits, while conveying important messages about uniqueness, respect, essence, wholeness, the presence of art in life, equality and acceptance.
With an original text and two actors, the museum space is transformed into a dreamlike setting, full of magic, imagination, play, intense action, twists and turns and plenty of humour. The result is a complete experience where young and old create their own unique worlds.
Celine, a girl with a passion for sculpture, feels trapped in her routine, like a sculpture that has yet to take shape. But when she finds herself in a dream world-the National Gallery of Sculpture-she feels liberated, like a statue breaking its mold. There, filled with joy and free of constraints, she discovers a sculpture she has long sought. But instead of answers, her find holds surprises.
Their meeting is like the marble and the sculptor coming together-a tension that gives birth to something new. Through a play between fantasy and reality, Celine is enchanted by the beauty of living works of art and, as if unfolding a spiral, discovers new aspects of her uniqueness. But the sculpture she encounters seems to resent it. Will they be able, through conflict and synthesis, to accept their differences and create something even more beautiful?
